i want you like this 

ALWAYS. 

soft and sun scented, 

slightly golden

and still smelling like 

lake water

and a hard days 

play. 

in a worn cotton shirt,

breezy hair 

and heart.

i want you like this

ALWAYS.

brave

and undaunted 

and loud 

and full 

of life and laughter 

i want you like this 

ALWAYS. 

curled in my arms 

just before bed

telling me 

I'm your favorite girl
